Hi blog readers,
After having spent most of the spring at base I ended up with some road duities this week. An early morning departure from to LCY turned out to be a new frist time visit to that airport. Used to travel a lot to LGW in the mid nineties, with Transwede, a ompany that turned out to be the operator on the flight that I was on. Since it was subway strike we where lucky to transportation arranged in advance. Good idea to pay a bit more than ending up in the Taxi queue after arriving with Heathrow Express at Paddington. Can you imagine the queue, it was looooooong.
So what is the NoRoadWorrries trick when their is a tube strike and you have a tight connection. A got start is to ask ten different people about the best option, Bellboys, check-in personel, waiters etc. It truned out that the Bellboy's advice was correct. Taxi to the Airport express train. These trains remain high on my favourite list of NoRoadWorries inventions. Reliable and punctual indenpendantly was is going on overground. Food on European "domestic" fligts remains a big concern. How healthy is a cheese platter and noodles in the lounge spicey up with sausabges on the flight.
Last flight out to a new country and time to crash in a bed. Luckily very close to the customer premises, so after having completete slides late, I could get a big good breakfast after some extra sleep. Second time with customer in 2 weeks and preparations really paying of. Rushing of to the airport and scrutinizing the taxfree and found a new gin that will be perfect for the new Martini bar. Hope it tastes well as well.....
Got dissapointed at the airport when my travel mate and I were given seats in different rows, and mine being 1B, a sure looser seating in any type of plane. But being in good mood I took the opportunity to leave the PC untouched and caheck out if any of my seat buddies had interesting life experiences to share. Turned out to be really interesting with insights gained in web project management methods, i.e. Scrum, from another one that have decided to open up a mind full of ideas and share them in a blog. And my old NoRoadWorries rule stands - You often have a very interesting person in the seat next to you, don't be shy to trade life experiences.

Hi
It's number 1C writing :)
Thank you for a nice chat on the plane. Did you read more about scrum? I was a bit tired so I didn't have the total concentration on telling you all the goodies about it.
I will take your advice to share life experiences when I go on my flights. A great way to network :)
Hi 1C ;)
I found the following on scrum http://www.softhouse.se/Uploades/Scrum_broschyr.pdf and it looks promising, I am keen on applying it on a project for high level solution management problem, i.e. no Software as result put a lot of marketing deliverables. I would actually be interested in following up that part and hget your advice if it could work
Have read your blog on PPTs, which was fun but you have a lot of interesting stories and reflections on life. The best one is when you felt a bit down and decided to turn it around by inviting 102 people for a party. Which leads into an old piece of advice for career people "Work Hard, Play Harder"
Happy Midsummer wherever you might have the opportunity to celebrate it.
