Serious fun - taking a bike run

Greater Stockholm is well equipped with bike paths all across the city. This make the hunt for bike lanes way simpler than the hunt for snow this winter. My next journey is about realizing the bike ride around the lake Vättern, starting at 0.32 in the morning on June 14 and going on for some 300km along the lake.

This weekend I have learnt a lot of new things that I need to do as part of the preparation. I need to take a course or practize how to cycle in a group. Using the brakes is absolutely forbidden, just imagine could happen behind you. And I need to figure out what to do when you are first and how you do when you back off from the lead. Rumor says that the ones that do not follow the rules are penalised. Not looking forward to someone putting a bicyclepump in my wheel.
I need to find the apporiate air level in the tires, a little bit too much and it roll easy, but get a bit bumpier. I am Starting to get a feeling how to pedal both up and down.

Cyclling is also a great way to get to know new parts of the town that you never see, pass by car. The bike run goes on bike pavements, streets in single appartment house areas, many tunnels, and with signs in most locations. An finally I managed to get all the way to my destination without too many detours

Starting to look forward to the second of the four challenges in my "get back in shape" journey that started with the "Vasaloppet" earlier this year. A really good feeling to travel to route towards a "Swedish Classic" and the shape is geeting there.
