By plane 3km is a 12 second show - But put yourself in a river and you will be really slow

The two extremes of transportation pace in life, flying and swimming, is the topic for todyas blog. We are just a few days shy of the swedish swimming classic "Vansbrosimmet" and I am gearing up for the final event of the four event sport challenge started last year.

Last week I etsted the wetsuit/s in a lake. The answer to the short sleeve or long sleeve question, is likely to be both. I have gotten a lot of funny comments. "Can you really swim?". "I should go there just to see what you look like when you reach the goal". I guess it was well deserved commenst, since I used life a life west for swimming classes in first and second grade, was the only one that hardly could swim when I applied for Snorkel diving in 7:th grade, and was freezing in 24 degree water when I took my scuba license.

Nevertheless, here I am 3km away from the goal. 2km downstream in one river, turing into 1km upstream in another river, plenty of people. Everyone a winner in his/her own race against our set ambitions to reach their own golad, and where the primary competitor is the 16.8 degrees that is going to surround you. Sounds like the "Ulster grease" is going to be a necessity, and you can look forward to the stories on how you remove it afterwards. I have heard that you need a bit more than soap and hot water.

I have also realised that swimming is the absolutely slowest transporation method for mankind, crusing at a stunning 2km/h in Bretrahstroke make biking feeling like going with the Space shuttle. The only thing that I am 100% sure about is that a wetsuitstyled champagne cooler have never been better suited for celebrating things, so the old widdow have a job to do .......
